Official launch of Aminoverse’s KGO enzyme panel
Synthesize cutting-edge compounds with the brand-new KGO Kit
Aminoverse is happy to announce the official launch of the KGO – Fe(II)-α-ketoglutarate dependent oxygenases – kit featuring 20 oxygenating enzymes. The use of these regio- and stereoselective enzymes offers an efficient solution for hydroxylation since chemical oxygenation reactions usually result in low yields and a variety of oftentimes toxic side-products. As these enzymes are intracellular proteins they are great catalysts for nucleosides, nucleotides, amino acids, antibiotics, terpenes, and other metabolites. Fe(II)-α-ketoglutarate dependent oxygenases therefore facilitate the generation of novel compounds functionalizing as pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, flavours, and fragrances. Besides hydroxylation reactions, KGOs are also capable of cyclopropanation and halogenation as they particularly react on non-activated C-H bonds. KGOs are non-heme iron proteins, relying on α-ketoglutarate as a substrate.
Advantages of KGOs:
- sustainable synthesis of novel molecules
- replacement of inefficient chemical oxygenation
- modification of nucleosides and nucleotides, amino acids, antibiotics and terpenes
- stereo- and regioselective reaction
The Aminoverse KGO enzyme panel spans a collection of 20 enzymes. The selected enzymes have different activity profiles and derive from all kingdoms of life. In addition, KGOs contained in the kit provide a wide variety of structures and sequences. The practical MTP format allows parallel screening of the entire KGO Enzyme Panel, followed by your GC, HPLC, or MS analysis of choice. Any KGO from the KGO Enzyme Panel yielding the desired product can be provided up to kg scale and can be engineered towards even greater performance.
